Atami Fireworks Festivals
Fireworks festivals in Atami are held not only in summer, but more than 10 times throughout the year. Set in Atami Bay and using the three sides of the surrounding mountains, whose topography resembles the shape of a grinding mortar, the exploding fireworks reverberate to create sounds similar to what one might experience in a large stadium. The full impact of 5,000 fireworks set off into the night sky reflected in the ocean is a sight of flickering beauty not to be missed.
